As simple as it gets. This recipe has four ingredients (well, five, counting the salt)….yet for so few things needed to create a colorful salad, it’s flavorful and delicious. It’s also known as a Turkish salad, a peasant salad and I’m sure many other names. It’s eaten in Persia to the Middle Eastern Gulf.
Ingredients:
1 Diced Whole Cucumber
1 Diced Tomato
1 Diced Red Onion
1 Lemon (to squeeze)
Seasalt
With the red onion, lemon, sea salt that add such varying tastes, and the tomato and cucumber contributing a light taste, it’s my favorite salad ever. But you have to like onion and some people might find it too strong. If so, try adding less! Also, create your own variations…add mozza balls or parsley or one of my favorites, cilantro. Enjoy. 🙂
